Enrollment Requirements
Our Lady of Lourdes Preschool program is open to all children who turn 3 or 4 years old prior to September 1. Children must be potty trained to attend. Siblings of current Our Lady of Lourdes students get priority for enrollment. In turn, students in the Preschool program have priority enrollment for the following year. Children do not have to be Catholic to enroll, nor do they have to plan to attend Our Lady of Lourdes K-8 to enroll.
3 year old Session
The 3 year old Preschool program runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday Mornings from 8 am to 11 am. Students must be potty trained to attend.
4 year old Pre-K
The 4 year old Pre-K offers three options for enrollment: 5 Half Days (8 am to Noon M-F), 3 Full Days (M,W,F 8 am to 3 pm) and 5 Full Days (8 am to 3 pm M-F). As a convenience to parents, the times are set to coincide with the start and end times for the regular K-8 school except on Fridays (K-8 dismisses at 12:30; Pre-K runs until 3 to accommodate afterschool activities available to the K-8 students).
Extended Care for 4 year olds ONLY
There is Extended Care from 3 pm to 6 pm M-F for 4 year olds only. Pre-K Extended Care is held in the Pre-K classroom (along with K students) and is separate from the 1-8 extended day program and students. Parents can choose to use the Extended Care program on a monthly, weekly or daily basis. The monthly fee is $150/month, the weekly fee is $55/week and the daily fee is $15/day. All fees are non-refundable. Daily and weekly care are available only if there is space available.
Course of Instruction
The underlying instructional strategy in preschool is the use of organized and free-play activities that are intended to provide opportunities for the child to interact, explore, and relate successfully in his/her environment.
The basic program includes: religion, communication and language arts, mathematics, self, family and community, science, art, physical education, music and rhythm, and technology.
Staffing
We are very fortunate to have enthusiastic, loving and very well qualified teachers for our preschool classes – all of them hold degrees in early childhood education and have over 20 years of combined experience teaching preschool. They are also First Aid and CPR trained.
Our preschool has a ratio of 2 adults for every 15 children.
Clothing
Preschool students do NOT wear uniforms. Children are expected to dress in comfortable clothing that can get dirty and wear closed toe and closed back shoes for safety.
