Friday Dismissal:  All grades, including 7th and 8th, dismiss at 12:30 this Friday, October 17th.

 

School Directories:  The school directories are enclosed in the brown envelope. Please check your entry(ies) carefully and let us know of any changes ASAP. We will print and distribute any corrections in next week's brown envelope.

 

Public School and District Census Form: This form is included in your envelope today, please complete and return it tomorrow. Our Lady of Lourdes is eligible for some federal school money based on our enrollment census, so it is vital that you provide us this information. Thanks for your cooperation.

 

The Harvest Fest Reading and Writing Fair:  Originally scheduled for tomorrow night, this event has been cancelled. Instead we are planning a wonderful Roald Dahl Festival scheduled for February 19th from 6-8pm.

 

EDP:  Registration Forms for Chess Club and Karate are enclosed.  Please  return as soon as possible if you are interested.

 

First Quarter Ends this Friday, October 17th:  Report cards will go home in next week’s brown envelope. Make sure you are up to date on your tuition and EDP payments or your child will not receive his or her report card.

 

Uniforms: Beginning Monday, October 20th: NO shorts allowed. Girls may still wear jumpers, skirts and skorts but their legs must be covered. Girls must wear plain tights, knee high socks or leggings in navy blue, black or white with all jumpers, skirts and skorts. Leggings must be ankle length, no mid-calf leggings allowed.

 

Boots:  Students may wear boots to school when it snows.

 

Scrip Orders:  Orders are due next Tuesday, October 21st remember to order a gas card for the Roundup “Gas for a Year Basket.”

 

Speaking of Roundup:  Roundup is fast approaching, make sure you save the date: Saturday, November 15th!  If you have an item or service for the auction please let the auction committee know as soon as possible by emailing Jeff Kuehndahl at jeff@4abetterrate.com.  A huge thank you to all of you who have solicited/donated items already!

            Roundup class projects are well under way now. Updates will come home in next week’s brown envelope. Watch for them and see how you can help.

 

Judge Homework Lab: This program for 7th and 8th Grade students needs volunteers to chaperone the students 3:15 – 5:00 pm Monday thru Thursday. Please see the enclosed letter to 7th and 8th grade parents.

 

Middle School Dance(7th and 8th Grade ONLY): The dance will be held his Friday, October 17th here at Our Lady of Lourdes. Thank you to all who have volunteered to chaperone. See the enclosed flyer for more information.

 

Attention 8th Grade Girls! There is a Conference for Girls hosted by the University of Utah Continuing Education Dept. on Saturday, October 25th. Please see the enclosed flyer and visit their website at www.youth.utah.edu for more information.

 

Health Reminder: Our Lady of Lourdes is hosting a flu shot clinic on Monday, October 20th from 1-4pm. This is entirely voluntary and only for those wishing to participate. If you need another form, please get it from the office. The cost is $25 with checks payable to FirstMed.

 

Fourth Grade Topography Projects:  Congratulations to the fourth graders for their wonderful topography projects.  They are on display outside the main office.

 

BASKETBALL ALERT:  The basketball program is coached by volunteers.  We would like to thank the four people who volunteered to coach 6th grade boys, 8th grade boys, 7th grade girls, and 3rd grade girls.  Unfortunately, if no other coaches volunteer, there will be no team for the other grades.  There is a meeting for coaches on October 20th at 6:00PM in the school library.
