THANK YOU: I want to heartily thank all those families who have done their best to follow procedures, pay their tuition, and do what was asked of them to support Our Lady of Lourdes School and everyone who works to provide a safe, caring, and academic environment for the students.

Brown Envelope: We are changing the Wednesday envelope procedure. Every student will now have a brown envelope. This way they can be stuffed in the classrooms. They are still to be returned the next day. If you do not return your envelope, the next week’s messages will be sent home without one which will probably result in a breakdown of communication. Remember to check the envelopes for important information!

Picture Day: Quite a few parents have called the office to say they forgot to return the picture envelopes. You may still order pictures by contacting Lifetouch directly at 566-7700. You can also opt to send payment with your child on Picture Retake Day which is scheduled for November 5^th. Please do not send payment to the school, it will be returned to you.

Uniforms: As of today, all students must be in complete Dennis uniform. Some of the problems we have noticed so far are: belts (must be solid black, brown, or navy), shirts (must have logo), skirts or pants (must be Dennis), shoes (must be predominantly black, navy, or white), and socks (must at least cover the ankle). Improper uniforms will result in detention points.

Extended Day Program: We were only in school for two weeks in August and there is already an outstanding balance of $429 (from only 22 families). September invoices are going home today. All payments for September must be paid by October 15^th. (August balances must be paid by Friday, October 3^rd.) Those of you who use the Extended Day program do so knowing that there is a very moderate fee. Taking care of your responsibilities set a good example for your children.

Mid-term Progress Reports: Progress reports are enclosed in this week’s brown envelope. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions or if she has requested you do so. By working together we can help ensure your child’s academic success.

Smith’s Earn & Learn Program: Thank you to all of you who have been using this program!For the period from August 18^th to September 26^th this year, twenty-five families used the Smith’s Earn & Learn program and generated nearly $600 for the school. Imagine what would happen if everyone participated.

BEE Safe Program: This is scheduled for Thursday, October 9^th from 5:00 – 7:00 in the OLOL gym. See the enclosed flyer for more information.

Music Update: We have a substitute and the students are now having Music. We have begun preparing for our Christmas Program which will be held on December 17^th in the Judge auditorium at 7:00PM. We will be having cookies and hot chocolate after the program in the OLOL school gym. Mark your calendars.

Blessing of the Animals: Fr. JJ is at a new pastor’s conference this week, but Fr. Flegge will be here on Friday, October 3^rd at 12 noon for this event. Parents can bring pets to school at noon to be blessed.

Volunteer Hours: Please keep track your own VIP hours. The forms coming home next week will need to be turned in at the end of the quarter (October 17^th).
