March 11, 2009
Spring Pictures: The spring pictures went home last week and were
beautiful! The Lifetouch representative is coming on Monday,
March 16th to collect the unwanted pictures and picture money. All money or unwanted photos must
be returned to school by March 13th. There is an envelope
inside your picture package and checks should be made out to “Lifetouch”. After March 13th, picture returns will not be accepted and
you will be need to pay for the entire picture package.
Pre-K comes to Our Lady of Lourdes: Applications are now being taken for the pre-K (4 year-old) program for the 2009/2010 school year. Call the school office for information and forms.
Breaking News for Park City Parents: Mr. & Mrs. Jahries (Patrick, 7th; Brendan, 6th, and Abigail, 1st) are hosting a wine and cheese meeting with representatives from Judge Memorial High School to discuss the possibility of a bus from Park City to Judge and Lourdes for next year. E-mail Mrs. Jahries at MRJahries@MSN.com if you plan on attending or to express your interest if you can’t make it.
EDP: There
are currently 23 families with outstanding EDP fees. Payment must be made by March 31st in order to
continue using the program.
Registration: If you could not attend last week’s registration
meeting to pick up your package, please call the office to arrange to get it. Financial Aid forms must be completed
and returned to FACT before Wednesday, March 25th. There is an application process for
financial aid. We have wait lists
for some of the grades. After
April 1st we will be contacting people on the wait lists and
offering them class seats. Please
make sure you turn your completed registration paperwork in to the office
before April 1st.
Confirmation Parent Meeting: The second mandatory parent and sponsor meeting for confirmation is being held on March 17th at 7:00PM in
St. Ann’s Church. The students do not attend this meeting.
First Communion Parent Meeting: There is a mandatory parent meeting for First Communion. You may choose either Sunday, March 15th at
12:00 noon or Thursday, March 19th at 6:30pm.
Medication in School: Just a reminder: Students are not to bring medication of any kind to school. Medication can only be dispensed by the
office personnel if provided by the parents and accompanied by the Parent Request to Administer Medication form.
Leprechaun Lope: Be sure to join us for the best 5K race of the year on March 14th. You can still register the day of the race. The Leprechaun
Lope is a race that the whole family can enter: either run or walk the 1 mile Health Walk. All proceeds benefit Our Lady of Lourdes School so
even if you don't run, you'll get a new summer T-shirt. Kids can ride scooters and dogs are allowed. Wear your green and show your Irish spirit.
The fastest OLOL student last year was Sean Sloan who ran the Lope in 22:59. Who can beat him this year? The parade will follow at 10 am and
OLOL will have a float that I'm sure will prove to be one of the best.
Stations of the Cross: Grades 2 – 8 will be praying the Stations of the Cross on Friday morning at 8:10am in the church. Please be on time for school.
Lost Hat: Daniel Wolff (kindergarten) lost the red U of U beanie hat that he wore to school last month. It was reportedly put in the Lost and Found
cabinet, but is no longer there. The hat has his name on it. If your child brought it home by mistake, please return it to school. It has great sentimental
value as it was given to him by his great grandmother.
Calling All Bees Fans: Vouchers are on sale at the school office. $10.00 each for the best available
seat. $5.00 will come back to the
school.
Annual Appeal: This year’s Annual Appeal has begun. Our goal is to raise $65,000 for the kitchen / cafeteria table project. I’ve heard that there was some confusion about the letters that were sent out. There were two: one from me and one from Jeff Kuehndahl who is organizing the drive. The banner that Jeff talks about is not a separate drive, but works in conjunction with the Annual Appeal. I have attached these again. Please feel free to print the letters and give them to people or organizations that you know of who may be able (and willing) to donate to our school. Thank you for your help and support.
