January 7, 2008
Christmas Program: The Christmas Program was wonderful. The students did a great job. I was so pleased to see so many of you there.
Tuition: Thank you to
everyone who is up to date with their financial obligations to the school. Children of families in arrears run the
risk of not being admitted to class and not receiving report cards.
EDP:
Notices are going home in
today’s Wednesday envelopes.
Please be sure that this financial obligation is taken care of by
Monday, January 12th.
Reconciliation Parent Meeting: There is a calendar time correction for
the Parent meeting on Sunday, January 11th. The correct time is 12:15 – 1:30.
Confirmation: Registration
paperwork was sent home before the Christmas break. If you intend for your child to be confirmed this year, the
form must be completed and returned by Friday, January 16th.
Report Cards: The second quarter
ended on December 19th and report cards will be going home on January
14th.
Ski Program: A notice about the
ski program is attached. Please
respond ASAP if you are interested.
Used Ink Cartridges: The
HSA is sending used ink cartridges back for a refund. Please send or bring any you may have to the office. Every little bit helps!
High School Placement
Test: The Catholic High School placement exam is being held
at Judge Memorial High School on Saturday, January 10th. Information can be downloaded from
their website at: www.judgememorial.com .
You must pre-register. The
make-up date is January 30th.
Uniforms: I
have met with Rayann from Dennis Uniforms to review the uniform policy for next
year. Most of the students are
following the dress code and they look much neater. I have added green polo shirts. The dark shirts stay much cleaner than the white ones. The green shirts are in stock (with the
logo) already, so if you are purchasing new shirts now, you may get those. I have eliminated the Oxford shirts,
because they always look sloppy and the students do not wear ties any
longer. I was told that the top of
the jumper can be removed easily to use as a skirt for 6th
grade. If your child has special
sizing issues, ask to speak with Rayann.
She assures me that there are very few accommodations that they can’t
make.
OPEN HOUSE: We
are having our first Open House on Sunday, January 25th from12:00
– 3:00. The best way to
ensure the financial stability of our school is with enrollment. If you are happy with your child’s
educational opportunities here at Our Lady of Lourdes (and you should be if
your children are here) then spread the word and encourage your friends to
visit our Open House. All students
are invited to attend the 11:00 Mass on the 25th in uniform. It is also the 4th grade
school Mass.
