Progress Reports: Progress reports are being sent home today in the Wednesday Envelope. Please sign yours and return it to school tomorrow. You can also access this on the Centre program. 7th & 8th grade parents should remember to check Powerschool for their Judge progress.
Parent / Teacher Conferences: Parent / Teacher Conference sign up sheets are going home today if your child’s teacher is requesting to see you. Any parents who do not receive a conference request, but want to meet with the teacher, should e-mail the teacher to ask for one. Parent / Teacher conferences are being held on Thursday February 26th. It will be a 12:30 dismissal day.
Science Fair: The Science Fair is being held tomorrow night (Thursday, February 5th) in the church Social Hall. It begins at 7:00pm. All grades will have a display. The 7th and 8th grade projects will be judged for submission into the Diocesan Science Fair. All are invited to stop by and see their children’s efforts.
Reconciliation: Due to the fact that there will be a funeral using
the church and social hall on Saturday, February 7th, the new date
for Reconciliation is Saturday, February 14th. The retreat will be at 9:30am with the
Penance Service at 11:00am.
Ski Program:
The Ski Program is coming
together. It will be running from
February 27th through April 3rd on Friday afternoons. The bus will be leaving OLOL at 12:00
noon. 7th and 8th graders should check
with their Judge teachers for permission to be excused early on those
days. More information will be
e-mailed to everyone later today or tomorrow (as soon as we receive it).
Open House: We are having an evening Open House on Monday, February 9th from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Please spread the word to your neighbors and friends whose children attend other schools. A healthy enrollment is necessary to remain financially sound and provide the programs needed in our school.
Graduation / Spring Pictures: These will be taken next Wednesday. Students are to dress up (NO jeans or t-shirts). All students will have their picture taken and the packets will be sent home for review. You can purchase all, some, or none. You must return payment or the unwanted pictures.
Roald Dahl Festival: The HSA is sponsoring the Roald Dahl (a famous children’s author) Festival on February 19th from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Plan on attending. Anyone wanting to help can contact Stephanie Metos at: skmetos@comcast.net.
Spring Book Fair: Reading is very important. All students should be spending time every day reading, both
on their own and with an adult.
The book fair is a great place to get good books for your children to
read and help the school at the same time. The HSA will be sponsoring another book fair during
Parent/Teacher Conferences. More
information will follow.
Tag Day: This month we will be having two tag days – Friday, February 13th will be red and/or pink for Valentine’s Day and Thursday, February 19th will be yellow which is Roald Dahl’s (and my) favorite color. Don’t forget your $1.00 each day you come out of uniform.
Valentine’s Day: Valentine’s Day is Saturday, February 14th. Your teachers (Grades K – 4) will
notify you of special activities if they are planning them.
Karate Classes: The next six-week session of beginner Karate classes begins on Tuesday, February 10th. The Advanced Karate class begins on Thursday, February 12th. Karate classes run from 3:30 to 4:30pm. New students are always welcome. Please send a check for $30.00 made out to Jonathan Atria. Please note on the envelope or the check which class your child is going to be in.
Chess Club: The next six-week session of Chess classes begins on Thursday, February 20th. The class runs from 4:00 to 5:00pm, though it may run a little later if Mr. Sanchez cannot be here exactly at 4:00. Again, new students are always welcome. Please send a check for $20 made out to Vanel Sanchez.
Piano Lessons: If your child is interested in taking piano lessons on Friday afternoon, please contact Mary Lynda Smith at EDP to see if there is an opening available.
Registration Night: We will be having a registration meeting on
Wednesday evening, March 4th from 7:00-8:00pm. It is important that at least
one parent from each family attend.
You will be receiving information
and paperwork that will be necessary to ensure a good start to the 2009-2010
school year. All paperwork must be
completed and turned in by April 1st to ensure your child a place
for the new school year.
Leprechaun Lope: The Leprechaun Lope, our next big fundraiser, is scheduled for March 14th. Rick Estrada is organizing this event. Anyone
interested in helping him to make this a success can e-mail LeprechaunLope08@yahoo.com to volunteer. This is a good way to complete your
VIP hours.

visible place (like on the refrigerator door). 7th & 8th grade Friday dismissal
times are posted on the calendar.
