Science Fair:  The Science Fair was a huge success.  The quality of the projects was truly amazing and the students were well versed in their subjects.  Thank you to all the parents who helped with the evening.  I am especially grateful to Ms King for organizing the fair and our teachers for their participation and attendance.  The Diocesan Science Fair is coming up and it is open to all students, not only the winners of our Science Fair.  I will send you the information as soon as I receive it.  There is an application and fee that must be submitted.

Centre SIS Correction:  Last week’s letter said that parents could access their children’s grades on Centre.  This is only true for grades 4 through 8 at this point.  We will let you know when this changes.

Ski Program:  Forms are due this Friday, February 13th

Parent / Teacher Conferences:  Conference forms have been sent home.  Remember to send them back right away.  If you did not receive one, but would like to meet with your child’s teacher, please contact the teacher via e-mail.

Book Fair:  Forms are going home today.  On February 26th the HSA is sponsoring “Bagels and Books” from 7:00 – 8:00am.  Please complete the volunteer form and return it as soon as possible if you can help.

Reconciliation:  The new date for Reconciliation is Saturday, February 14th.  The retreat will be at 9:30am with the Penance Service at 11:00am.

Tag Day:  Friday, February 13th will be red and/or pink for Valentine’s Day.  The students did such a wonderful job on the Science Fair that it is a FREE tag day.  Be sure to wear red or pink.

Valentine’s Day:  Valentine’s Day is Saturday, February 14th.  Your teachers (Grades K – 4) will notify you of special activities if they are planning them.

Registration Night:  We will be having a registration meeting on Wednesday evening, March 4th from 6:30-8:00pm.  It is imperative that at least one parent from each family attend.  You will be receiving information and paperwork that will be necessary to ensure a good start to the 2009-2010 school year.  All paperwork must be completed and turned in by April 1st to ensure your child a place for the new school year.

Uniform Exchange:  We will be having two uniform exchanges this year (one the night of registration and one at the end of the school year).  Please wash any outgrown uniform parts that are in good condition (no holes, tears, or stains) and send or bring them to school with your name on them.  You will receive a ticket for each piece and may turn that ticket in for a larger uniform piece on March 4th.  We cannot guarantee that there will be a size that you need.  Tickets can also be used at the end-of-the-year exchange.  Any uniform parts not traded will be sold at $5.00 a piece after school closes in May.  Any 8th grade parents who have uniforms that are in good condition can drop them off after graduation if they have no further use for them.

Confirmation Information:  Information regarding this year’s confirmation has been e-mailed to the parents who have signed their children up to receive this sacrament.  Please read it and complete all paperwork.

Roald Dahl Festival:  This event is sponsored by the HSA .   The children have been reading Roald Dahl’s books in school.  There will be activities and families are invited to bring their favorite Roald Dahl concoction for others to sample.  Everyone is invited.  (See flyer in the envelope)

Leprechaun Lope:  The Leprechaun Lope, our next big fundraiser, is scheduled for March 14th.  Rick Estrada is organizing this event.  Anyone
interested in helping him to make this a success can e-mail
LeprechaunLope08@yahoo.com to volunteer.  This is a good way to complete your
VIP hours.
