HSA Giving Tree:  (Christmas Shopping made easy) If you were considering getting a Christmas present for your child’s teacher, you might want to check out the Our Lady of Lourdes website or the Christmas tree (which will be on the porch after school).  The HSA has asked the teachers for wish lists for their classrooms to help you with ideas.  Many of the requests can be filled with scrip (making your OLOL dollars go further).  Families may want to go in together or make cash donations for larger items.

Housecleaning:  Over Christmas break we will be cleaning out and organizing the storage closet across from the boiler room.  Assorted school groups have things stored down there and they need to be identified.  Please come to school and label any items you want us to save.  After Christmas Mr. Lamar and Mr. Mazur will be deciding what should be saved and anything not labeled risks being thrown away.

Extended Day Program:  If you have forgotten to pay your EDP bill, or are struggling to find the money to pay it, please see Ms. Smith to make arrangements to pay at least a portion of it NOW before it gets overwhelming.  Despite hard times, we still have to purchase snacks for your children and pay Ms. Smith’s salary.  It would be quite embarrassing to have to deny your child a snack and other childcare arrangements are likely to be even more expensive.  Second quarter report cards will be going home after the Christmas break.  Students of families not up to date with their finances will not be receiving theirs.  Your prompt attention is most appreciated.

King's English Book Talk:  Dec 10th - 6 pm - 9pm   Book talk at 6:45 pm (anticipate 1 - 1.5 hours)
Are books an important part of your holiday gift plan?  Please join us at the Kings English next Wednesday for a review of the best new books.  The talk will be provided by Margaret Neville and she will cover books for all ages.  If you haven't had a chance to attend this event in the past, you will quickly add this to your list of annual must dos.  A portion of the proceeds from all books sold on this night will be donated back to Our Lady of Lourdes.  Light refreshments will be served.  For more information call Linda Bachmeier at 230-5422.

Christmas Program:  Remember to keep December 17th at 7:00PM open for our Christmas Program and social afterward.  The
program will be held in the Judge auditorium and the social in the OLOL gym.
Basketball:  If you are looking for a schedule for the students’ basketball games you can go to www.para-slc.com and click on
2008 – 2009 Basketball Schedules.  Come out and support our athletes.

New School Calendar:  The Diocese has been receiving phone calls regarding the school calendar for next year.  In response, the
new calendar which was adopted just before Thanksgiving has been released now instead of in the spring.  Please take advantage
of this advance notice when planning vacations and appointments.  It is very disruptive to your child’s learning process to leave
school for vacations or appointments.  (See the enclosed flyer.)

High School Placement Test:  The Catholic High School placement exam is being held at Judge Memorial High School on Saturday, January 10th.
