Thank you: I would like to thank everyone (students included) for their letters, cards and prayers of support during this difficult time. Now that I’m back, there is a lot to tell you. Be sure to read the whole letter and take notes.
Congratulations: Congratulations to our students who received their First Holy Communion this past Sunday and are now able to participate fully in the Liturgy: Zara Antal, Valencia Archuleta, Gracie Davis, Deng Deng, John Hunt, Braxton Huntsman, Killian Lamanna, Chase Lessey, Yulisa Padilla, Sophia Patillo, Alexa Punzo, Antonio Rivera, Nathanial Rivera, Riley Walker, Diata Whitfield, Clara Williamson, Natalia Zurita, Coleman Petras, and Marleigh Petras.
More Congratulations: Judge Memorial and Our Lady of Lourdes alumna Maria
Schwarz will attend
Linfield College and swim for the NCAA Div. III Wildcats.
Spring Festival: Our first annual Spring Festival is being held
tomorrow night, April 30th at 7:00pm in the Judge Auditorium. The 6th grade class is
putting on a presentation of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”
and each class will be performing as well. Our students who take piano lessons at school on Friday
afternoons will start the evening.
I hope to see everyone there.
Students will report to their classrooms at 6:30pm. Students are to wear nice clothes
– not their uniforms.
Annual Appeal/Kitchen Project: Our kitchen project fund has stalled at $10,000. Adding the $3,000 match brings the total to $13,000. We need $15,000 for the actual kitchen work and the rest was to purchase new cafeteria tables. If you know of any organization or group who needs a tax write off and likes to donate to worthy causes, please spread the word. Thank you to everyone who has helped so far.
School Board: There are seats available on the School Board for next year. If you are interested in serving, please send a letter of interest to the Board President, Ernie Sandoval at: e_sandoval@woodburycorp.com
Lunch Orders: May lunch orders are due this Friday, May 1st. This is very important for planning and ordering food. Note: 8th graders’ lunch for the month is $33.00 since they finish a week before everyone else. Form attached.
Yearbook: Orders for this year’s yearbook are due this Friday, May 1st. Form attached.
8th Grade Graduation: Dinner orders are due on Friday, May 1st (for the Graduation Dinner).
Library: As hard as it is to believe, there is less than a month until the end of school. Books will not be checked out to go home after this week. All library fines must be paid by May 8th. Remember that all financial obligations to the school must be taken care of before the final report cards are sent home.
Spring is Here: and the weeds are
growing. We are looking for
volunteers with a green thumb (who can tell weeds from plants) to help weed the
garden out front. Please contact
the office if you can help.
Fire Alarm: Our fire alarm system needs to be upgraded which is the reason for the latest coupon book fundraiser. It ends this Friday, May 1st. The coupons must be completely filled out and legible in order to bring in $2.25 each. Thank you to those of you who did not want to complete books, but sent a donation instead.
Uniform Exchange: Remember to save and send in your outgrown uniforms. We will be holding our uniform exchange
on Wednesday, May 20th.
You may turn in your uniforms ahead of time or bring them in that
morning. All uniforms brought to
school must be laundered and in useable condition (acceptable for school
use). Wednesday, May 20th
will be a Tag Day. Students can
either bring in $1.00 or a uniform piece for the exchange. May 21st will be Field Day
and the students do not need their uniforms. Friday, May 22nd is the last day of school and
students can come in their own clothes (acceptable for school).
Field Day: The students will be having a Field Day on Thursday, May 21st. Those who buy school lunch will be receiving a bag lunch. Everyone else will need to bring lunch in a paper bag and drinks in disposable plastic bottles or juice boxes. We will need parent volunteers for each class. It would be helpful if the class parents organized this.
Talent Show: The HSA is sponsoring a Talent Show. Tryouts are this Friday. Please see the attached flyer.
SOBO: Plans for an end of the year celebration are in the
works. Volunteers are needed to
make it a success. Please see the attached letter and contact Jeff to volunteer.
7th & 8th Grade Dance: The last school dance for this year is this Friday at St. John the Baptist School.
Stix Program: The Stix Program has been cancelled due to lack of interest. We will try again next year.
